Abstract submission for the 15th OESO World Conference (OESO 2019)
is now opened.
"Twelve abstracts will be selected among those submitted. The authors will be honored at the Gala evening, when they will receive a Diploma. In addition, they will be offered free registration at the time of the OESO 16th World Conference in 2021."

The Program Committee for the 15th OESO World Conference is inviting the submission of scientific abstracts. We seek novel paper submissions to be presented or posted (as a poster paper) with topics broadly including, but not limited to the following categories:

Note: Abstracts from ALL DISCIPLINES, either on the theme of the Congress, or on ANY TOPIC relating to the upper digestive tract, will be welcome.
Submission Guidelines
General
- Start your abstract submission by creating an account for the OESO 2019. Please note that the abstract submission system account is different from your OESO membership account.
- Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts in electronic (PDF) format only
- Abstracts will be accepted in English only
- An international panel of reviewers will review all abstracts anonymously
- There is no fee for submitting an abstract
- There is no limit to the number of abstracts you may submit (however an individual may not be offered more than 2 oral presentations)
- All Abstracts accepted by the Scientific Committee will be published in cooperating journal and the Conference website prior to the OESO 2019 and it is mandatory to agree to this at the time of submission
- OESO 2019 conference also accepts short videos (maximum 5 minutes) to be reviewed for video presentation at the congress. Please see below for video submission guidelines.

Title & Topic
- The abstract title must not exceed 150 characters in length; this includes spaces.
Title & Topic
- The presenting author of an accepted abstract must be registered for the OESO Congress by July 31, 2019
- There is no limit to the number of co-authors per abstract
- The submitter can view the status of co-author disclosures by clicking on ‘Authors’ sections of the abstract. Those with incomplete disclosures are denoted in red
- If you would like an assistant or other person to receive notifications regarding the status of an abstract, please enter their email address on the text field provided below the list of co-authors
- Please note your preferred presentation format. If you would not be comfortable giving an oral presentation, please select Poster Only. NOTE: Selecting Poster/Oral does not guarantee you will be assigned an oral abstract presentation upon acceptance; the final presentation type is determined by the International Scientific Abstract Review Committee
- Author and institution information must NOT be included in the body of the abstract. The inclusion of either of these in the body of the abstract will result in rejection of the abstract
Disclosure
- ALL abstract co-authors are expected to disclose to the program audience any/all relevant financial relationships related to the content of their presentation. Kindly note that all disclosures can be submitted by the submitter on behalf of the co-authors. The submitter will NOT be able to finish the abstract submission process without the disclosures of all co-authors.
- Financial Disclosure information needs to be completed for EACH co-author at the time of submission through the online abstract submission form; however, information can be provided by the submitting author.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Per CME guidelines, industry employees cannot present an abstract if the content of the abstract relates to business lines or products of their employer.
Abstract Text
- Author and institution information must NOT be included in the body of the abstract. The inclusion of either of these will result in rejection of the abstract.
- Abstracts may be entered directly into the site or copied and pasted.
- Research work should be original and innovative. Work can have been presented prior to OESO 2018, but MUST include new information/data.
- Abstracts must not exceed 450 words in length (not including title and authors).
- A maximum of 1 table may be included and will count as 100 words.
- A maximum of 1 image may be included and will count as 100 words.
- Tables, images and graphs must be uploaded in JPG or TIFF format at 300 dpi and 100% size. Any higher resolution is acceptable.
Abstract submissions must be structured as follows:
- Background
- Material & Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
Video submissions must be structured as follows:
- Description – what is shown in the video; why this video is unique or important for the congress
- File Upload (avi, mpg, mpeg, mov, wmv – max. 250 MB)
Preview & Submit
- Please proofread your submission prior to submitting.
- Once submitted, you will no longer be able to make edits to the abstract. If you need to make changes prior to the submission deadline, please contact us via e-mail: oeso2019@sina.com
- Submit your abstract online. You will receive confirmation of the abstract submission within two business days. If you submit your abstract on the deadline day and do not receive confirmation within 48 hours, e-mail: oeso2019@sina.com
- If the presenting author is unable to present the abstract, another co-author can take his/her place as long as he/she is duly registered to the congress. A letter from the presenting author informing about the change is requested and must be sent to the congress secretariat, e-mail: oeso2019@sina.com no later than September 31, 2019.
Late-Breaking Abstracts
Late-breaking abstracts (LBA) may be submitted for high quality, new research findings with implications for clinical practice or understanding of disease processes. Researchers with well-designed, high impact trials would be candidates for late-breaking abstracts even if the results are negative.
If a submitter wishes to submit a late-breaking abstract, a skeleton abstract indicating the type of data that will be available by the late-breaking abstract deadline must be submitted online by July 31, 2019 (11:59 GMT). Please note that accepted late-breaking abstracts will be notified by September 1, 2019.
The skeleton abstract will need to describe the type of data that will be submitted by the late-breaking data submission deadline, indicating the primary clinical endpoint for analysis, planned statistical plan for analysis, and date of planned analysis.
Submitters of preliminary versions receiving approval to proceed must submit the final late-breaking abstract by October 15, 2019 (11:59 GMT).

For Registration, participants should register for an OESO account first, choose the registration type & dinners and pay for the registration fee via paypal platform. Payment can be processed by both credit card and paypal account.
