Path 1–Great Wall – Ming Tombs

8:00 am depart from hotel to go to Juyong Pass of Great Wall of China.

  • Juyong pass, located in the northwest of Beijing, is one of the three famous passes of the Great Wall. In the middle is a more than 10 km mountain valley, commonly known as Guangou. In Guangou, there are a lot of scenic spots and historic sites; according to legend there are about 72 different sight spots, in addition to Juyong Pass, there are erlongxizhu, immortal pillow, shuanmazhu, qinglongtan, qinxia, liu lang xiang, zhuangyuan bridge, guancheng, yuntai, badaling and so on.

9:00 amarriving Badaling Great Wall

  • “One who fails to reach the Great Wall is not a hero.” This quote is saying for Badaling Great Wall. It is the outpost of juyong pass, with an altitude of up to 1015 meters. So far, including Richard Milhous Nixon, Margaret Hilda Thatcher and other more than 300 world famous people have boarded the badaling Great Wall. Usually, it will take 2.5 hours to hike.

12:00 – lunch time

 

1.30 pmMing Tombs (Dingling)

  • The Ming Tombs are located in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing, about fifty kilometers from the city. They are the tombs of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 A.D). Dingling is the tomb of the tenth emperor of the Ming Dynasty and his two empresses. Its underground palace was the first of the underground structures excavated between 1956 and 1957. Dingling consists of five chambers, all built of stone. Its total area is 1,195 square metres. The Ante-chamber and the Central Chamber are 7.2 metres high each. Two Side Chambers are 7.1 meters high each. In the Central Chamber, there are three thrones. The Back Chamber, 9.5 metres high, is the place where the coffins are kept. The grave goods of Dingling number over 3,000 pieces in all, including gold, silver, pearls, jewels, jadeware, chinaware, lacquerware, silk goods.

 

 

 

5:00 pm – leaving Ming Tombs for dinner, and then visit National Indoor Stadium

  • Bird’s nest, the Water Cube, Wangfujing and Tian An Men.

Path 2–Forbidden City – Great Wall – Tian'anmen Square

Day 1:

 

8:30 am – departing for Forbidden City

  • The Palace Museum is located in the center of Beijing. The largest and most complete ancient architectural complex in China. Known as one of the world's five palace. The Palace Museum’s built in 1406 AD, has more than 90 courtyards, 980 houses and 8,704 rooms; surrounded by palace walls of 12 meters high and 3,400 meters long. It is a rectangular fortified castle surrounded by a moat, which is 52 meters wide. There are four gates: the main gate is called meridian gate, the east gate is called donghua gate, the west gate is called xihua gate, and the north gate is called shenwu gate.


11:00 am – lunch time

for night scene of Bird’s nest and

Day 2:

5:00 pm – go to Tien'anmen Square for flag-raising ceremony.

  • Tian'anmen Square is one of the largest city squares in the world. It is situated in the heart of Beijing. Tian'anmen was built in 1417 and was the entrance gate to the Forbidden City. Now the square stretches 880 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west. The total area is 440,000 square meters. That's about the size of 60 soccer fields, spacious enough to accommodate half a million people.

 

12:00 – lunch time

 

2:00 pm – visit the Summer Palace

 

5:00 pm – dinner time
