The Department of Surgery – led by Prof. Philippe Morel – embarked on robotic surgery in 2005, as one of the fi rst pioneers in Europe. With more than 2500 procedures performed across disciplines, and numerous international courses regularly held since 2006, the team has extensive experience with performing as well as teaching robotic surgery. This course – off ered in collaboration with inter-national experts – is designed to off er a broad overview on the status of surgical robotics in general and particularly for upper GI-Surgery.
