The afternoon will be organized in the framework of the OESO Foundation, headquartered at the University of Lausanne:
The originality of the multi-disciplinary approach of OESO, bringing together world leading specialists from 18 disciplines, all interested in one, single organ, the esophagus, has given this network a particular place in the international Scientific Community, thanks to its novel, highly specific character as a clinical, as well as basic science research body.
The establishment of an innovative, international Center of multi-disciplinary distance learning meets the long established aims of OESO in the realm of diseases of the upper digestive tract.
This Session will be a highlight of the Congress.
It will represent a concrete materialization of the achievements of OESO through its Foundation and of its privileged relationship with UNESCO.
It will take place in video connection with the Brazilian Congress of Gastroenterology in Sao Paulo.
*
Enlightened by the participation of renown speakers in the field of Research, Communication, and Humanities, it will be centered on the discussion of a clinical case which will benefit from direct interaction among specialists from all disciplines.
The discussion will be a demonstration on how a conjunction of expert opinion can shed light on a problem, when the synthesis is made by specialists of the calibre of those assembled on this occasion.
*
The summary of a patient file, selected for its particular interest in regards to diagnosis or treatment, is inserted at the end of this program.
A joint approach of the problems posed by this case will be made in cooperation with the audience and the attendees of the Brazilian Congress in Sao Paulo, for the greatest benefit of the patient.
*
This presentation will be a solid illustration of one of the most stimulating parts of the OESO program for Continuing Medical Education, in line with the conclusions of the Debate "Towards the University of the Future" already organized at the UNESCO by OESO at the time of its 5th Congress in 1996.
Sharpen your ideas to enliven the discussions,
don't miss this occasion to contribute to this challenging exchange!
